Richard Macklin
Richard, an English solicitor and French avocat, is Global Vice Chair and Global Client Partner of Dentons, the world’s largest law firm.
He was part of the small leadership team which took the business from the 164th to the largest law firm in the world in less than 5 years, while also winning the prestigious International Law Firm of the Year award from The Lawyer magazine and most Innovative Law Firm from the Financial Times.
Richard has been stationed in New York, Brussels and Paris, has headed the firm’s M&A department as well as a number of its international offices, and worked extensively in Africa, India, China and Latin America. He is an M&A specialist, and has over 30 years’ experience advising some of the world’s largest multinational groups and funds in the development of their domestic and international strategies.
Graduating from the Meyler Campbell Mastered programme in 2016, Richard uses his coaching every day in every aspect of his work – with clients, within the firm, and as an active promoter of diversity and inclusion in the board room. He sits on a number of advisory and charitable boards, speaks on strategy and innovation around the world, and is passionate about encouraging a growth mindset in all those he meets.
